Weapon of Choice 2-h Heavy Flail:
I believe the character is taking Battle caster (allowing him to wear a breastplate without messing with his spell-casting). I'm looking for the feats you guys/gals would take with this class/race combo.
Since the PC was raised as a human I allowed him to either take the extra skill points or the extra feat at level 1. He took the feat so he has two feats to take.
Any suggestions would be great. Too many of the feats in these books are so situational they seem worthless in about 80% of the fights.
If you list a feat I would appreciate knowing where it came from. Thanks!!

When playing a Hexblade, I'd recommend Arcane Strike from Complete Warrior. You can't get it until later levels, but it adds a little oomph to your melee attacks. Also Extra Slot from Complete Arcane beefs up your fairly limited casting ability.
I'd also HEARTILY suggest using the Dark Companion variant Hexblade (Player's Handbook 2) that gives you a shadowy panther-like creature instead of a familiar. The panther-like creature can't attack or be killed, but it lowers enemies abilities kind of like a curse, and makes it harder for enemies to save against your curses and spells.

Ooooh, and since you're using a flail, you would be well served to take the Improved Trip feat. Once your Dark Companion and curses have lowered their check results, you should have no problem regularly tripping them, and causing them to both waste a move action standing up AND provoke an attack of opportunity in the process!

Here are some of the feats from Dragon 339
Empower Curse
Benefit: Your Hexblade's curse bestows penalties 1 point greater than normal. Thus, your hexblade's curse imposes -3 penalties instead of -2 penalties, your greater hexblade's curse imposes -5 penalties instead of -4 penalties ect.
Extend Curse
Benefit: Your hexblade's curse lasts for one day instead of the normal 1 hour.
Extra Curse
Benefit: You may use your hexblade's curse ability one extra time per day.
Special: This feat may be taken multiple times; its effects stack.
There are some other ones but the first level character probably wouldn't be able to meet the prereqs.
