Questions about the area of Sandpoint

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

What is the climate of Sandpoint? I can't seem to find it listed. I need to know what my PC's can expect from my favorite challenge, Weather.

It's Pacific Northwest climate. Summers are warm (rarely getting above 90º F), winters are cold (but snow is very rare). Rainfall is pretty constant throughout the year, less in summer and more in winter. Fog is VERY common in the morning and evening. Winter and Spring bring lots of windstorms and rainstorms, with sporadic thunderstorms.

I guess that explains why all the Pathfinder Iconics look so grunge. The Pathfinder character sheet will have a block where you can keep track of how many layers your character is wearing.

You laugh...*puts on another layer of clothing for the chilly PacNW weather*

I like snow too much not to add it when the winter comes. So MY Pathfinder campaign shall have some of those winter rainstorms replaced with winter snowstorms, especially near the mountains (poor Korvorsans).

NOTE: Although it rarely snows in Sandpoint... the last two adventures in Rise of the Runelords take place far to the north and at much higher altitudes. Snow will be involved. Which is only proper, because in my experience, snow is an epic challenge and one you shouldn't throw at a low or even mid-level party of Pacific Northwesterners.

Even if they have four-leg-drive horses.

Can I get studded horseshoes for my noble steed?

Do not forget the chain-mail shoes.
