As I go through the savage tide, I am really enjoying the subtle hints for what is in store.
Some examples of symbolism in the AP so far.
Duality:
The most obvious duality is that of the savage tide itself.
Vanthus Vanderboren (VV), and his ahm... fascination with his other half.
There are others, but they escape me right now. I need to write them down as I come across them.
Anyone got anything else?

Anyone got anything else?
I ran my players through the original Tamoachan module as a prequel to STAP, so they are primed to pay attention to mention of bats and to interpret them as symbols of Camazotz. We're only in TINH right now, but here are some of the ones they've noticed:
- There is a ruby bat in the Vanderboren mansion, one of the "easter egg" souveniers from Larissa and Verik's travels. In my campaign, Larissa's Isle of Dread journal mentions that it was given to her by a lone phanaton: I'm prepared to make this have been a disguised agent of Malcanthet if the golden idol (another bat) doesn't work out.- Rowyn Kellani has two jewelry boxes, one of which is decorated with bats.
Others will certainly appear in the Olmec ruins in Sea Wyvern's Wake and on the Isle of Dread.

Interesting/Weied-out angle:
Now, what would she be like as half of a demon lord?

Tentacles and things "fishy"... from the ixithiciatl...you know the demon fish in TinH, Brissa of the sharky smile in BWG, the Bullywug worshippers of Dagon, the masher eels (!).... the Kopru (all the dozens), an Aboleth, a Wastrilith, Khala... the snaky Yuan-ti ( a serpent tail is pretty close to a tentacle...) and all of Demogorgons offspring later on. the three headed serpent, linnorms..... the tentacles in the WoD pits....
Wet, slimy and snaky tentacly.... icky !
Hey did I mention Dagon has a guest appearance ?
