Hardcover editions?

This might be prohibitively expensive but has any thought been given to releasing hardcover editions of some Pathfinder titles?

Personally, I'd be interested and willing to pay a premium to get some Pathfinder titles in hardcover. How much of a premium would depend. If a "normal" hardover might go for $35 (which is the cover price for Nighshade's Kane collections), I would pay a $15 premium if necessary for the Jirel title in hardcover, so $50. I would not go the Wandering Star Conan edition route and pay a lot more than that, however.

As I have no idea of the economics of publishing hardbacks in addition to the trade paper vis a vis Paizo, I'll just offer up the suggestion for whatever its worth.

In theory I'd probably buy a compliation of an entire adventure path in hardcover (ala SCAP), but:

(1) I'll already own them in softcover, and I don't need two hard copies;

(2) How would it be priced? Too low and you risk hurting subscription sales, too high and no one buys it anyway.

DOH! I apologize. I didn't mean "Pathfinder." I meant Planet Stories! I'm getting old and confused.

Ahh....I was wondering about some of those titles...I thought I was just losing it in my old age. ;-)

Generally the rights for hardcover editions are more expensive than for paperback editions, so all of the books we've signed so far have been exclusively for softcover editions. It is possible that the line might become successful enough that it would be worth getting these rights, but we're still in the very early stages and it'll probably be a year or two before we can seriously consider it.

Glad you're interested in the line, by the way. I'm sure you will appreciate the Jirel collection.
