Evil Combo

OK, got a combo for a BBEG, Armed with dualwielded Harpoons (both +3 Returning), and a net... The net is made of adamantium, with a rig of four immovable rods at the corners of the net...

BBEG Throws net, locks down PC, throws Harpoon (2d6+3, and again when it returns (they deal damage on removal)), until dead... :D I am thinking of slapping this onto a Seagoing Frost Giant... What do you guys think??

what is BBEG?

otherwise, I think it sounds pretty cool!

One quick note: it takes a move action to activate an immovable rod. Four rods=four move actions. I doubt the captured PC is going to sit still for that long, though the thought makes for a great scene.

The adamantine net idea is neat, though I've never thought of adamantine as a flexible metal. Especially with that hardness rating. It isn't exactly magnesium or aluminum . . .

Try this thought: BBEG throws net with trailing line. Hoists caught PC up into the air. Activates immovable rod that's embedded in net to hang up his opponent. I'd probably penalize the Escape Artist check for that stunt, at least a little.

BBEG

Big Bad Evil Guy

Though thinking of frostburn and stormwrack. An immovable rod would be a great way to sink (or at least run a ground) a ship. Just place it below the water surface and let the ship hit it.

Heh heh heh.

I think you're allowed to make a Str check, though, so I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work. Still, cool!

Put the Combo down and back away slowly elvn.... Ah! Ah! Don't make me use this thing! (waves a Tazer gun in the air)

Seriously though, thats a great combo. Definitly use the "haul them in the air" bit instead of the four immovable rods though. :_)

Have fun! (cause I know that one is gonna have chins hanging on the floor in your group)

Hmmmmmm just looked it up. The rods can support 5000lbs and be moved with a DC30 Str check. But that doesn't mean an under water race couldn't make "mines".

They cut down a tree fron the shore, strip the branches off and carve one end to a point. They then drag the log into the water, attach ropes to it and sink it (by using weights, manual labour, magic, summoned creatures etc.) They then attach the log by ropes to an immovable rod. It should float in the water like so, as only one end is attached to the rod.

If the ropes are cut or the rod released the log shoots to the surface driving itself through the ships hull.

Ow.
