Okay, so, say you had to divide all the various games that fall under the umbrella of "tabletop games" into 4 to 8 categories (as in "card games," "board games," "miniatures games," etc), what categories do you think are popular and important enough to note?
card games
board games
miniature games
role playing games
military strategy games
drinking games
projectile games (you know, flicking s!*#, from coins to little disc thingies)
dexterity games (pick up sticks and so on)
and ummmm... lemme think
- Card games (Poker, Bridge, Euchre, etc.)
- Collectible card games (Magic, Pokemon, EVE, etc.)
- Role-playing games
- Family games (Monopoly, Clue, Life, etc.)
- Strategy games (Risk, Axis and Allies, etc.)
- Miniatures games (Warhammer, Warmachine, etc.)
- Party games (a broad category for everything from Taboo and Trivial Pursuit to drinking games and 80s Trivia games)
- "Other games" a catch-all category for anything I missed, heh.
