Ya, definitely a place for people who enjoy the outdoors. I used to drive through Markleeville on my way to and from college at UC Davis, that's another beautiful place.
Growing up my friends and I used to backpack into the mountains with 70lb packs for a short 3 day stay...mainly because our D&D books weighed so much!

From 1987 to 1993. Yes, that's 6 years, but I did graduate eventually with a BS in Civil Engineering.
