I am looking to see if I am actually the only person from Sacramento, CA on this message board...well I certainly hope not.
I've already been trying to network through a Meetup Group Website in my area, but that appears to be going nowwhere.
If anyone lives in this area, please drop me a line here.
We already have a DM (my longtime friend D-Boy) and myself involved, possibly others (if they stop being so flaky).
D-boy will be running an Eberron campaign that will most likely travel to a Home-Brew world of his that he is trying to get up and running.
After a decent stint of this, when he'd like a break, I will be running Age of Worms, set in Greyhawk, my CS of choice.
We play 3.5 edition if that is in question.
Thanks,
Yasha

Oh, I suppose some vitals might be useful. My fellow DM (D-boy) and I are looking for both players and DMs in the Sacramento Area for what would most likely be a Late Saturday night game (preferrably weekly). The Hours of operation would be something like 9pm to 2am or so.
D-boy DMs Eberron and is looking to introduce his Homebrewed Campaign Setting to a comfortable group.
I DM Greyhawk exclusively and have been a Hawker for 16 years.
We Both are interested in playing and DMing and are open to 3.5 Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, and Eberron games. We both are experienced in all three settings.
Drop a message on this thread if there are any questions...or just post-chat...

That seems to be the usual. I have actually finally had some luck though.
I just was put into touch with someone I used to game with years ago and thought I would never be in touch with again. And two folks from local internet meetups have contacted me.
Now we are in the process of interviewing those we don't know (we don't want complete wierdos) and working out schedules.
Thanks for the wellwishing. Good luck over on the East Coast. It seems like just being plain lucky is required.

Yes Turin I know. Apparently I am fumbling my 'connect to other gamers' roll. One of the players I had slated to get things rolling this weekend ended up bailing because of his ball and chain gf (she is NOT a gamer, unlike my wife ^_^). That leaves us with four total (3 to game and 1 to DM). Not a perfect start but we'll see what we can do while we continue networking for more players.
I'd like a group of five to six players plus the DM personally.

I might be interested, Sac is a little further than I was hoping to find a group, but I'm getting desperate for some gaming action. Whereabouts in Sacramento would the play be located? What source books are currently in use? What other source books would be allowed? Any classes or races that aren't allowed? Any current house rules? What level would the campaign be starting from? Rolled stats or point buy? Where are you on the RP-HnS scale? Planning to try for a 4e playtest? Planning to switch to 4e when released? I know that's a lot of questions, but I want to get a feel for the game before I commit.

Shegenaga!
This is what I get for essentially giving up on The Gamer Connection forum. Sorry to not have been here for a week.
Locale: Near I-80 and Madison Ave.
Rules: Pretty much everything 3.5, though Tome of Battle is likely out.
4th ed: No idea if anything is going to happen there, especially since there is no info about any released playtesting going on that I've hear of.
Character Gen: At the moment, somewhat up in the air. I would be playing, not DMing this one. That falls to my friend D-boy.
For more info got to the Sacramento D&D Meetup website. There is a posting on the Messageboard called 'Gaming Opportunities' that is listing all the difficult requirements we have. Sadly scheduling is the main reason no game has started as yet.
My moniker there is Yasha. My friends' D-boy. Drop either of us a line via email or something and we'll see how things look.

Realistically speaking, after having seen you other post, Sacramento is a huge drive for you. I'd feel bad even suggesting that you come so far.
I would continue my suggestion from before though. Check and see if there are any Meetup's for D&D in your new area. Pickings might be slim...like up here....
But you just might get lucky.
If you are determined on even thinking about coming to Sactown (which would be a good 1 - 1&1/4 hour drive or a bit more, then I will definately pull out all the stops and try and get something going here. Thats dedication.

Update/Bump!
Takasi, thanks for opening up the Online Meetup page for me. Nerak the Numb has brought up his online Savage Tide (wonder if that slot was taken or not?)
Anybody else in the Sacto area? Eyebite, let me know how things are going down in the Lodi region. Maybe we can get together an all paizo crew for an online MapTools game show Takasi be willing to run.
