Scaling Synergy

Has anyone come up with a good system for scaling synergy bonuses?

At relatively low level, it is very easy to gain a substantial +2 bonus. At high levels you still have a +2 bonus.

I was thinking something as simple as for each full 5 ranks you get a +1.

Thoughts?

I believe the epic level handbook covers this. Every 10 (or is it 20?) ranks above 5 gives you an additional +2. So, someone with 15 ranks in Knowledge (Arcana) would get a +4 on Spellcraft checks, for example.

SRD: "Many skills are noted as granting a synergy bonus to the use of another skill when a character has 5 or more ranks in the first skill. This synergy bonus increases by +2 for every additional 20 ranks the character has in the skill." A 10% scaling is fairly reasonable, but I might go Dragonmann's route as a house rule and give +1 per 10 additional ranks instead, to spread it out a bit.
