Is Tangletooth Wrong?

Rise of the Runelords

As an animal companion to a fourth level druid, should not the leopard have an addition 2d8+4 hit points to it? The 19 hit points seems incorrect.

Thanks.

leopards are more powerful then normal animal companions, they only become available at 4th level and count as the animal companion of a druid 3 levels lower... So, no it doesn't get any extra HD, natural armor, or str/dex.

What he said.

BEHIND THE SCENES: I chose a leopard precisely because of this fact, actually. We were really REALLY tight on space, and this rule let me use an "out of the box" animal and I could thus use a short stat block rather than a full sized one.

Is Tanglefoot's damage incorrect? As a medium animal his bite should be 1d8 +3 not the listed 1d6+3 (a small animal).

If you are using the original module, well 3.5 animal companions didn't follow pathfinder rules... if you are using the new pathfinderized one volume update of RotRL... well I don't know what to tell you.

According to page 54 of the CRB: the leopard (with the 4th lvl advancement) gets a bite (1d6) and 2 claws (1d3).
