Penkus's Revenge *possible spoiler*

Savage Tide Adventure Path

Scarab Sages

Having read the STAP in full before begining the campaign, I noticed something during the first adventure:

Penkus's not in "There is no honor" has Penkus swearing to meet Vanthus in Hell( or the abyss, I forget).

It occurs to me that when the PCs get to Wat Dagon and encounter Vanthus again, a Penkus-turned-Petitioner torturing Vanthus would be fun. I really love how the players instantly HATE Vanthus...I really played up him toying with the PCs (he urinated into the 'well' for one). Having Penkus show up is a great way to have the STAP come full-circle.

That you could certainly do if you wish.

'Twould seem that dear Penkus is probably a few lower planes over to the left on the Great Wheel though. He struck me as a rather Neutral fellow...

Apologies for interrupting your thread, but I still haven't got my issue of 150 yet and something I saw in your post intrigued me.

What are the circumstances of encountering Vanthus again? I know he comes back in Into The Maw, but how does he come back in the final adventure?

As a soul grub, a medium-sized maggot with Vanthus's head and about 2 hp.

It doesn't have to actually BE Penkus, perhaps just some manifestation of the abyss meant to torment Vanthus for eternity.

Penkus might just have leeched onto the characters when they Discovered his corpse and message in Sasserine. Have hi manifest now and then ( certainly each time when they cross blades with Vanthus ) and have him gloat then, as his "agents of revenge" strike down Vanthus time after time !

Might also be useful as a deux ex machina, perhaps passing cryptic warnings, or inadvertendly warning the PCs about ambushes, simply by manifesting and setting their teeths on edge ?
