The master of hard bop has passed on, and my head is hanging. First the fates took Clifford Brown from him, at the height of their powers, and now I guess they're finally reunited. Jazz will never be the same without them.
Yeah; Mr. Roach was in his 80's, I think. He lived a long life, played a lot of music, and did his best for social reform; I don't think he probably felt "gypped" at the end. Still kinda sad for hard-core jazz fans, though.
