Paizo Podcasts?

Liberty's Edge

I really enjoy listening to the Wizards of the Coast D&D Podcast (if you haven't heard them, you should ckek 'em out)

Anyway, I was thinking how great it would be if Paizo did a similar podcast - talking about Dragon and Dungeon, Pathfinder, Gamemastery ... whatever.

I did a little diiging on the site but didn't see anything.

So, my question is: DOES paizo do a podcast? If so, how do I find and subscribe to it? If not ... WHY NOT???

Thanks!

I'd rather see them pump out more game products than babble on a podcast for an hour. The only thing I would like to see is a MP3 of Erik doing Balabar Smenk... I hear its practically legendary.

Certainly a good point as far as dedicating time toward creating great game products! However, while I agree some podcasts are cheezy and a waste of time, some are quite interesting! I for one, would LOVE to hear Erik chat about Greyhawk, or James talk about Pathfinder's creation or whatever really. Reading posts are great, but hearing the people actually speaking is cool too.

Just my opinion of course.

So, does anyone actually know if there are, or will be, Paizo podcasts?

We've talked about it for over a year now, but just don't have the time to put into it right now. Everyone is working huge hours and to put a regular podcast on the schedule would probably send everybody postal. I would love to do it in the future, but for now, don't expect it anytime soon.

Too bad.

If anyone's interested in hearing ANOTHER group of geeks talk, there's also Feartheboot.com.

Just take everybody out to the favorite bar, bring along the recording equipment, and have at it. Podcast problem solved! :D

Thanks Lisa! Couldn't ask for a better or more honest answer than that!

Sect - what is Feartheboot.com. exactly?

Thanks!

It's a podcast site where they talk mostly about game design. Or, at least, attempt to. Pretty interesting and fun stuff.

You have to be kidding, gah!

After hearing a recent WotC podcast, I became so mentally unstable I mulled over slitting my wrists!

No, no more podcasts!

If I want to hear inanity passed off as insight I will walk into a cafe or a pub.

Fear the Boot is one of the best gaming podcasts out there. Sure, they're human and have their less stellar moments but on the whole they provide great content, insight, tips, tools, humor and LOTS of opinion. Not for everyone but they've had me cracking up out loud in public places as I've enjoyed them on my iPod. Note: if you give them a try, listen to one of their regular episodes first before you listen to a bonus episode. They'll tell you exactly the same.

That said, all podcasters I've listened to over the past year all confess it is a huge investment of time and effort. If Paizo decides to head down that road - and wants to do better than the watery infomercial stuff other Large Game Publishers Who Shall Remain Unnamed have put out, IMHO - they really will need to dedicate some resources. A good podcast can be great, but a mediocre podcast can be really really bad. Just my $0.02.
