hello. i'm a 30 year old gamer with about 16 years experience looking for a mature, sophisticated game in So Cal. i haven't gamed in 6 months (i'm in the military) but would love to start. very knowledgeable (sp?) with 3.5 and i'm a spender with a ton of books and dragon and dungeon magazines (sniff, sniff...). please help!

I am 31yrs old and also in San Diego. I haven't gamed in awhile but would love to find a mature game that can be flexible on the schedule do to wife and kid restraints.

Where abouts in SD are you each located?
I've got a full group currently, but I'm also at a real low ebb for gaming. I've got two young kids myself and a job that can be brutal on my time, so I manage to game about once a month. I desperately want to get back into a weekly game, but it's probably 6 months to a year off still. With that in mind, I'd be interested in talking and staying in touch regarding putting such a group together in the future. My current group is too geographically dispersed and has too low of a commitment level to support a weekly game. I anticipate needing to recruit new members/join a new group at that point.

Damn. That's the opposite direction of where I am looking for players. I live up in Encinitas and work in Carmel Valley. Everyone in the group used to work in the CV area, but now everyone is in south/east county and I am up in north county. Still, my best player is located in Spring Valley. I will give him a ping and see if the other group he plays in needs a player.

i'm in coronado. i'm interested in a regular game and am committed enough to gaming (not having done so for about 6 months) to drive pretty much anywhere for it. i've been in contact with thoth-amon the mindflayerian about an upcoming twice a month game so i might only be able to game on those off weeks. i still haven't heard back from them so that's not definite, though.

I was just going to comment on the fact that there's a whole group present in the thread already.
My friend in Spring Valley says there are currently 7 people in the group, so unfortunately they don't have room for another. Here's hoping the three of you can make something work. Maybe sometime in the future, you'll have room and I'll have time to join.

I know that you are too busy to game right now and that your friends group was already too big, but do you think you coould put Mr. Black and I in touch with them? Maybe there are some of them that might like to play on the off weeks that their game doesn't meet. Plus I know how easy it is when we are all older with more complicated lives that they may need a player or two because someone moves off, etc.
It is hard to find other Older (and sometimes mature) gamers and it would be nice to have some connections. It must have been fate that I even saw the original post. I was trying to find out what was happening to my Dungeon Subscrption. I had never been on the message boards before.
And if it helps, I usually had to be the DM for my group over the past 20 years. I would like to sit on the otherside of the table, but if getting in touch with people means that I have to DM again so be it.

I'm looking for a more serious game and am not opposed to rotating DM chair if everyone else is in the same spot of wanting to play as well. Just have a bunch of character concepts I've been dying to try and at this rate I'm never even going to get started burning through them, no less actually get to explore them.
