Hey all.
I've made a habit of going through modules I've been running and converting various NPCs to make use of splatbooks that have classes or prestige classes (or feats, spells, etc.) that I think would better represent the character. I'm only to TFoE in the Age of Worms (and that isn't even finished yet), but I wanted to share my thoughts on the few NPCs I've changed so far, and ask if any DMs thought that other NPCs in future modules should be changed.
I even offer to do the work in converting. I have access to the majority of WotC's splatbooks, and would appreciate advice in the matter of what an NPC should be. I'll be happy to go off that suggestion, convert them, and present them here and see what everyone thinks.
The first few are all from Diamond Lake (or at least, currently are in Diamond Lake). I'm also avoiding doing NPCs not in the Age of Worms Overloard right now, as I'm not sure I'd be allowed to post conversions of NPCs only seen in the module on the boards (though they still wouldn't be the originals, and I wouldn't be posting those. Anyone know?):
Auric (Champion of the Free City Arena) - Changed from Fighter 5 to Warblade 5. It seems to fit him more anyways, being the cocky warrior that he is.

I chose Stone Dragon and White Raven as his primary stances because of his weapon's inclusion in both schools. Stone Dragon seems his style anyways. High damage, strong maneuvers, the works. White Raven seems more like an after thought for him, something he started working on when he began traveling with a group.
I'll post a few more later. Next on the list is Merris Sandovar going from Ranger 3 to Scout 3.

I made some conversions to account for my PCs being extremely powerful:
-Loris Raknian: fighter 16, combat brute feat (Complete Warrior)
-Madrasker Illthoin, magister of Waterdeep and head referee of the Champion's Belt games: wizard 5/incantatrix 9 (Player's Guide to Faerun).
-Auric: fighter 11, combat brute feat + adamantine greatsword
-Shukak, lizardking of the Twisted Branch: draconic lizardfolk barbarian 7 (using Draconomicon), intimidating rage feat (Complete Warrior)
-Elaxin the doppleganger used flick of the wrist (Complete Warrior)
I've made tons of changes to my own campaign-specific additions, such as people and monsters in Waterdeep and the surrounding region. I get great joy from taking what's in the modules and giving it my own spin based on the players and their PCs. Great fun.
