So I read that some DMs are thinking about leveling up the Jade Ravens and having players use them as PCs play through Prophry House Horror, since it's a cool adventure.
There are five players in my group, so I was going to use the Ravens and Tyralandi, or maybe another PC created by a player. I haven't quite decided yet.
So I was in the middle of leveling up the Ravens when I started wondering what kind of career path or PrC the sages at Dungeon had for them. I figured Liamae would be a Mystic Theurge and Tolin would keep progressing as a Fighter. Kaskus and Zan I wasn't too sure about. Any thoughts?

I do have career paths for them.
Tolin: Keeps going as fighter.
Liamae: Moves over to mystic theurge.
Kaskus: A few more levels as druid, and then after seeing all the crazy monsters on the Isle of Dread, he might decide to abandon his spellcasting progression to become a primeval.
Zan: Eventually, he'd end up in a prestige class like invisible blade, or perhaps master thrower. Some sort of dagger/knife specialist.

Neat! I was almost right on, then. I was thinking about making Zan an invisible blade (since one of my players already plays a Master Thrower and is typecast as him usually, just to switch it up a bit) and making Kaskus more tropically. I've swapped the croc for a dino, I forgot what it's called, and will now make him a primeval. What's that from, btw?
Thanks James! Your the best.

Thanks for the idea, BTW. I usually like having side quests used to fill in the "behind the scenes" details of a campaign world; this fits the bill.
It's ironic that the Jade Ravens bear a striking similarity to my own players' PCs. (The PCs are half-orc crusader, human warlock, human artificer, human "knife-thrower" fighter, and aventi druid.) In that spirit, I've made Tolin a warblade, instead.
Also, since there is about a two-adventure gap between the Jade Raven's last appeared, any "adventure hook" ideas (with respect to the STAP) that would lead them to Scuttlecove? Perhaps just the need to right wrongs, or could it be Tolin's last chance to prove himself to Lavinia?

I was just going to play it as the PCs are sent to deal with shadow pearl production and the Ravens are sent to find out information on the Crimson fleet, a who what when where kind of thing. I figured that Lavinia would be sending them on little clean up missions like the PCs went on during ToD, hence the levels, and then they're sent to found out info. Tolin likes it becuase it gives him a chance to really show how he's grown as a swordsmen, Zan likes it becuase he finally gets off of the Isle, and Liamae likes it becuase she's testing her phenomenal luck yet again, being a very beautiful woman in a nasty pirate town. Kaskus is upset about leaving the Isle but sees it also as a test of his love for the Isle. Or something.
I like the idea of Tolin being a warblade a lot! I don't think it would fit my campaign very well but it fits the character.

In retrospect, given his interest in perfecting a twin short sword fighting style, swordsage may be the more appropriate choice, but hey...I shouldn't have to worry, unless any of my PCs antagonize him (possible, but unlikely).
