How can I get the PDF download maps into a different format?

I want to take the pdf map images from the Dungeon supplements and adjust their sizes up to 1"=5' scale but I have no programs that let me access the images to adjust their size. What are people doing with the PDFs to enable them to do this? I have the Adobe reader but not the version that allows me to manipulate the content. I also have GIMP, Paint.net(free program similar to GIMP which is like a stripped down version of Photoshop) and that's it.
Would it be bad to ask for someone that has converted these to JPGs or GIFs to send them to me so I can have them in a workable format for me?

Try cutting and pasting into a paint program. Either you should be able to play with the dimensions there, or you could perhaps try Irfanview. Either should work.

The swift application of the Prt Scrn key can get an open pdf into Paint or any other program. Save as jpg etc and manipulate to your hearts content.

Doesn't work. Can't cut in adobe. I can get it "clipboard" the image but it won't let me open that in anything else either.

Can't seem to get the Prt Scrn key to function in this instance.

WARNING: I have not tested this myself, nor am I claiming it is a safe download! Use at your own risk!!!

But you might give this a try.

I cover what I do to get an adobe pdf file into a usable format on this thread.

Would Microsoft works word processor work with the outlined plan? I am not very familiar with it and don't know about if it allows me save in HTML format.

Hmm. Weird. What version of Reader do you have? I just opened up a handful of Dungeon Supplements and was able to cut and paste various maps into my MS Paints. (I have the latest version of Reader.)

Don't want to assume anything. When you open up Adobe Reader, you should have on the toolbar a hand, then an Arrow and Select, then next to that a camera in a broken-lined box. Click on the latter. Drag your mouse with a click and scrawl over the area you want to work with. Ctrl-C. Either have Irfanview open (if you have it - it's freeware and I love it) or MS Paint. Either Ctrl-V and voila!

Between Mac Donald and you, I believe I have got it. I tried it out and seem to be getting what I needed. I am using a program called PosteRazor to divide up the 30"X40" image, that I have blown up from the Dungeon PDFs, into standard size printer paper format instead of me trying to hack it up myself. I think I just made a battlemap of the pirate caves from The Bullywugs Gambit in issue 140! Printing out the 30ish sheets now.

Thanks all!

I would think so.
