FC Hordes of the Abyss; Obox-ob picture on page 72, what the heck is going on between his body. I see his head with the three skulls and tongue and his tail with the stingers and corkscrew stinger, but what the hell is that bug thing in the middle holding blue light!!!
It's not mention in his description.

It's just bad art.

Yeah... the illustration of Obox-ob is not as good as I hoped it would be. Part of the problem is, of course, that Obox-ob is kind of a freak to begin with; he's sort of like a reverse scorpion with a bunch of legs where his body should be, tails where his face should be, and three faces where his tail stinger should be.
He could certainly use a new illustration. I'll see what I can do before Dungeon goes away.

Personally, I like the illustration in FC1: HotA for Obox-ob. His indiscernible appearance adds to his mystique, and adds a sensate quality to his aura of madness. I would like to see other obyrith demon lords portrayed in a similar fashion. (Pale Night is close.)
However, he's not likely to make it as a miniatures mini as a result anytime soon. So, conversely, I wouldn't mind seeing a representation of Obox-ob in the midst of battle with some ill-fated adventurers.
