I'm excited by the idea of a goddess of monsters. I picture a party of brave souls having just fought their way through a hidden, monster-infested temple of Lamashtu. They enter a large room and see the high priestess languidly draped over an imposing throne. A displacer beast lies contentedly at her feet. To either side crouch an owlbear and a rambunctious, playful rust monster. Overhead lurks a wicked harpy (shaved and pierced, of course).
The party steels its resolve and prepares for combat.
Which is when the tentacles loop down from above them, grasping, squeezing, and crushing.
The high priestess begins to laugh.....
