Long term reader of dragon, and disparing at lusing my monthly inspiration. However my group is small (I run exclusavely solo games for an old freind as im too buisy to find a larger group & happy with my long established situation in this) This means we tend to charicter foucused plot centric campeghns taht do not readaly accept pre written adventures, and as a result I never use them.
So as adventure paths have no real use to me how much value would there be in my picking up Pathfinder?

About half the magazine will be non-adventure material, like Ecologies, new monsters, setting material, and so on. I'd guess there may still be lots of inspirational articles, but we won't know for sure until the first one ships.
You might want to just look at the first couple issues in the shop and see how you like them. And subscriptions are month-to-month, so...

Thats another prblem, I live in the UK, about 100 miles from anywhere that carrys RPG related products more weighty than a soon to be extint Dragon, I've gamed for over 15 years and never even seen Dungion on a shelf, so getting into pathfinder will basicly be sight unseen, and with half of each gone on stuff I will in all likly hood never use the remaning part would have to be consistantly stelar to get into my wallet I am afraid.

I'm no staff member but, personally, whether I run the actual Adventure Path or not (though I know I will, but that's beside the point), I know I'm going to use PF as the "first spark of many things to come", if you will.
I know that its encounters, particular situations, information on various gods, new creatures, societies and whatnot will affect my imagination and inspire me to create cool stuff for my games. I would probably pick'n choose this or that encounter, this plot hook or that magic item, and just drop them in my campaign as well. That's a great way to spice up my own plot devices and avoid repetitiveness when I feel it's just around the corner.
I think PF can be a great source of inspiration, much like Dungeon still is for millions of readers out there. Right here, I see value in PF for you and your friend.
My advice: pick up the first issue of Pathfinder, and find out if you see that spark I was talking about for yourself and your own games! ;-)

We've detailed on the Paizo blog what else will be in each volume of Pathfinder, but the short version is this:
1/2 Adventure Path
1/2 Support (new monsters, world expansion, and new rules)
I think Pathfinder is going to be ultra cool. But I think the point being made by some readers of Dragon is that Pathfinder is pretty much going to be a DM's tool. This is what might hurt the product in the long run. Less versatility compared to Dragon, which was more player oriented.
