Deadly Halfling Jump Attacks

3.5/d20/OGL

Is there something in the rules to account for jumping and then attacking? Do you get a bonus on attack or damage rolls? For instance if my halfling Rogue is standing on an awning in a marketplace and then jumps down onto a passing foe does he get a bonus on the attack or damage rolls?

is the hafling using his body as the weapon? you could him as an improvised weapon ;)
Other than that I am thinking that you might just get the extra +1 or 2 for being on higher ground. Or maybe treat it as some sort of charge attack ...

That is where I would suggest taking it.

Charge, plus Higher Ground.

If you don't think that is quite deadly enough, you could double the effects of the charge... You can't really get out of the way if you are in mid-air, so a -4 to AC isn't too much of a stretch, and then you have to recover from the landing...

I asked the same question last month. I think the genral agreement was +1 for being on higer ground, but beyond that you basicly just get "cool points". You and your DM can get creative to come up with some nice stuff to make combat a bit more fun.

Fizz

This was inspired by Belkar from the Order of the Stick.
Thanks for your input, I'll suggest this to my DM.
Another question on jumping: can I make a jump with the running start so I am 15+ ft in the air and then attack and get the benefits of a jump attack? This seems reasonable to me but I wanted to get a second opinion.

Since you seem to be fixated on jumping attacks, you may wish to suggest your DM look at the Way of the Hare feat on page 56 of Rokugan (Oriental Adventures) Campaign setting.

It might suit your needs, and since it is published material it might give your suggestion more weight.

I just think that the idea of a halfling raining death from above is kind of cool.

Isn't their also something like Jumping Charge in Complete Warrior?

I know at least there ís a Flying Kick feat in there.

You are probabaly thinking of Leap Attack (Complete Adventurer I think). Basically you double your power attack damage on a charge if you jump more than 10 feet. Sound like exactly what you are after.

Leap Attack!

That's what I was looking for indeed, thank you :)

As for flying death dealing halfings I made my wife a halfling Barbarian/scout with monkey grip and leap attack. She gets an extra 2d6 from movement with the scout levels and she get X3 from her power attack cause of the medium sized great ax. She has killed many enemy with one swing.

I know it's not official WOTC material, but the Mongoose published "Quintessntial Halfling" covers a lot of stuff like that as well as climbing up big foes and throwing small characters. It's a pretty neat book that's not to expensive.

Why not just Flat footed + High ground + Charge + knocked prone, is that deadly enough?
WWOOOOO HHOOOOOO

Thanks everyone, Leap Attack looks like what I am going for.
