Given that Greyhawk and the other campaign settings (which I have no interest in but I know other readers do) are WoTC owned, will Pathfinder be able to write for adventures set IN those campaigns specifically under the open-game license?
Will Rob Kuntz's MAURE CASTLE be able to continue in Pathfinder?

Pathfinder is set in a new campaign world developed by Paizo (exciting stuff see the Pathfinder page for more info).
Greyhawk and Maure castle are out.

We can't develop Maure Castle as part of Pathfinder, but the possibility of doing further licensed products with Wizards of the Coast is certainly out there. I'd love to do a big Maure Castle hardcover book, for example.
Until then, you can certainly expect to see elements of Maure Castle's design philosophy in Pathfinder now and then. "Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure" is one of my favorite adventures, and working on Maure Castle stuff with Rob has easilly been one of the highlights of my time on Dungeon.

That being said, I would like to take this opportunity to state that I am not at all pleased with this decision to pull the plug on Dungeon. Please point me to the huge droves of people who have been requesting "on-line" publication material. I have yet to hear anyone clammering for this stuff, or to have Dungeon/Dragon shut down in favor of such. Are all people who play this game little more than computer nerds who sit in front of their computers all day and read? Apparently WoTC thinks so, unless they have some other angle or motives that are unknown to me. Having a life and being on the go, I like to have the ability to take my hobby with me, hence, I purchase the magazine.
And I am extremely displeased that Greyhawk's one means of continuance has been squashed by the company who won't print it, and won't let any 3rd party/open game license publish it. And do any of you expect our moronic friends over at WoTC to be publishing lots of Greyhawk adventures/material over on their new "on-line" website they think everyone's dying to see... I think not.

Greyhawk could only continue through magazines?
I don't see how that is true at all. Greyhawk lives in both the Living Campaign, and fan created works and sites. As for the web, WotC posts small but useful articles on a regular basis as part of the support for the LG campaign. While there is no indication they intend to extend this with their new web publishing scheme, I see no reason to jump to such a conclusion before they've announced anything.

I know that Mr. Gygax has pretty much done his own thing regardless of who owns Greyhawk. I have full confidence that Uncle can as well.
WRT Greyhawk,...I'll miss the old girl, but I'm looking forward to what these guys do with Pathfinder.
And, I gots me own take on Greyhawk I can run with if need be.
