In a recent Dragon editorial, Eric pointed out that he likes his fiction leaning more toward REH's Conan. I'm a big REH fan as well. I've also found that a number of articles in Dragon aren't ones I'm inclined to use (though it's been getting better over the past year or so) - especially not over and over like some of the ones from back in the day. One thing that I'd like to see return are Campaign Components, like the gladiator one, pirates ones, etc. that they've had in past issues.
In general, I'd make use of these types of articles for short themed campaigns. Specifically though, I'd like to see one on bringing a sword and sorcery feel to D&D.
This gives me some of the benefit of Iron Heroes, or the Conan RPG, without needing to buy them, learn them, etc.
How many others would like this?

I would! S&S is how I prefer my D&D to run, even if the PCs do cast spells and generally behave like vanilla D&D, the locales & bad guys don't have to. :)
I'm a big fan of S&S myself. Here's a link on the apparently/supposedly/probably defunct eZine Flashing Swords's site.
It's a basic toolkit for retrofitting your D&D for a sword and sorcery feel. I've taken some of it and made my own adjustments. It's a good start.

Wow, what a great resource! I have the 'zine bookmarked for the articles about authors and such, but hadn't stumbled across this conversion.
I think I would drop sorcerers entirely and just introduce Incantations from Unearthed Arcana.
Oooh, Incantations give me the creeps. But I suppose that's the point in the S&S context I suppose...

Hmm...this would be a very cool setting/theme for an adventure, but my players are so used to high-magic (or at least a normal level of magic) that I doubt they'd be keen on the idea.
Oh well. I'll run it past them. Last time I thought they'd dislike something, they unanimously agreed on it. Go figure.

This is awesome!
And you failed to mention (or didn't realise the significance) that this is by Bill King, author of the "Gotrek & Felix" series.
Dark Fantasy indeed!
