Hey there Paizo kids, I'm trying to get a bunch of Q-Workshop's dragon dice (five of the seven dice sets). I first went to my FLGS and placed an order, which is supplied through Alliance Distribution (who, my game store owner tells me, is one of the only distributors of these crazy european dice). They were slated to appear in the first quarter, which has come and gone, leaving me diceless and increasingly frustrated. I have heard that Q-Workshop are similar to the soup nazi from Seinfeld, supplying the US with dice as they wish, and so I ask you: are your Q-Workshop dice in stock (that is, physically in your warehouse), or must you order them from Q-Workshop as you receive orders from customers?
If so, I will be ordering from you rather than my FLGS, but I'd rather support my FLGS if the wait time will be the same regardless of whom I order from. Thanks in advance for your response.

They should be in stock, with the exception of the ones that say "Backorder" beneath the "Add to Cart" button. The backordered ones have to come from Poland, and you're right that that often takes a while.
Your FLGS is correct that Alliance is the only US distributor he can order Q-Workshop dice from, though even then Alliance only carries the dice sets. (I believe we're the only US outlet that has single dice.)

Okay, so based on your response, I placed my order for five of the seven-dice dragons sets, all of which were not listed as "backorder," and on the order confirmation page, each set is listed as "Preorder." Now, unless your version of preorder is different from what I would expect, that would lead me to the conclusion that I have just done what I didn't want to do: order dice from you guys that are still waiting to be shipped from Poland (because they aren't in the warehouse). Please tell me that I'm mistaken and that "Preorder" just means they haven't cleared the warehouse yet.

Hey, thanks, Vic. When I go to look at my order, under the title/description of each dice set it says "Preorder," but if the stuff is verified as in stock, that's good enough for me. Thanks again for your help.

I'll check in to why you're seeing the word "preorder" anywhere—you shouldn't be.
Seems it's a known cosmetic bug that we'll probably have fixed in a week or two. It only affects some Q-Workshop dice and a small number of Magnificent Egos minis which are in stock in our warehouse, but are only available from Alliance as preorders right now.
No worries—your order will ship next week.
