Black beast of bedlam?

Dragon Magazine General Discussion

Silver Crusade

The sidebar on page 66 of issue 353 (in the Volo's article) refers to "Black beasts of bedlam" apparently not included in the article. I'm really fascinated by that name, though, and wish I could have seen what they're all about.

These creatures actually come from the "Realms Bestiary Volume 2" written and edited by Thomas M. Costa and Eric L. Boyd. And the ones in the magazine are really close to the same as written in there. Here's the page for you to download them. The Black Beast of Bedlam is in there, too.

Enjoy.

D'oh! >_>

Look for the black beast of bedlam to make an appearance in Dragon soon. Very soon... *mysterious voice* Soooooon!!!

Question on the Death Devil real quick, Mike.

The way it was written in the Realms Bestiary, the creature should've had Multiweapon Fighting for free because of its attack routine and it looked like you guys meant to put it in but took it out for some reason at the last second because there's a comma at the end of its feat list.

Also, it's attack routine is incorrect. It's listed as Scythe and Claw OR Whip and Claw. Technically, because it has multiple arms, it can employ Scythe, Claw, and Whip simultaneously. (most likely counting either the scythe or the whip as its primary attack and the other weapon its off-hand weapon, followed by the claw as a secondary natural attack).

Just thought I'd point that out. :D

Thanks, Razz.

Yes, I suspect the removal of Multiweapon Fighting was an error, and you should post-it-note it into your magazine. :)
