Zenith's Splintershield's magical gear

Shackled City Adventure Path

The rogue in my group robbed Zenith at the end of Chapter 4, taking his Gauntlets of Ogre Power +2. I'm a little confused after looking up the item in the DMG. The item they list in the DMG states that it grants the wearer a +2 Strength bonus. Since the item Zenith had in possession were a set of +2 Gauntlets, does this mean the wearer gets a +4 strength bonus?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The gauntlets of ogre power are a pair of gauntlets normally. When both of them are worn, the wearer gets a +2 enhancement bonus to Strength. If only one gauntlet is worn, no bonus is gained.

That part I understood, but Zenith has a pair of Gauntlets of Ogre Power +2, so does the wearer gain another +2 enchantment bonus (in addition to the +2 that already exists)?

No, they're normal gauntlets of ogre power. That's my opinion, at least. I've never heard of gauntlets of ogre power +4, +6 or +8 for that matter. Perhaps it says +2 as an attempt to help remind the reader of the bonus granted without refering to the DMs Guide.

Koramado is correct.

Thanks! This helps a lot.
