Ok, I am horribly confused with the Cactacae weapons sidebar. I hope the Dragon editors can clear things up for me. I'd like to say, those weapons needed a lot more description than what was given.
First off, I assume a Medium size character can use these weapons as long as they have the Exotic Weapon Proficiency feat? And the talk about them being too big to wield for most people was just flavor text, correct?
Next, the rivebow. It's the only one that has the most description, but it fails to tell you how long it takes to reload the weapon. It also doesn't list how much the ammunition costs and it's weight.
Next, the chakri. I assume this is THE ammunition for rivebows along with being a ranged weapon solo?
Finally, the greatcleaver. What the hell is it!? It only says it's a 10-foot reach, two-handed, slashing melee weapon. Is it a sword? An axe? A pick? A razor-furred monkey? Can we get a really good description of this weapon, please?

Well, it appears that some of this info got cut from the article. Let me see if I can answer some of your questions from my recollections.
The size info was just flavor text. Medium creatures can use them without penalty so long as they take the appropriate feat.
The rivebow is as easy to reload as a heavy crossbow and follows all of the same rules. The chakri is the ammunition. I do not believe (nor is it ever noted in the book) that chakri can be used without the rivebow.
As for the greatcleaver.. to be honest, we do not have much info on it. But from the info we do have, it can safely be assumed that it is just that, a really large cleaver type weapon. It probably falls into the axe family all things considered, although the razor-furred monkey is also a possibility.

If it helps at all, I've used greatcleavers in my game as giant meat cleavers with reach. Looks damn cool if anything.
