Blessed Weapons (BoED)

Under the description of the 'blessed' enchantment for weapons in the BoED, it states that blessed does not function alongside other enchantments pertaining to critical hits (keen & vorpal are specifically mentioned).

Now, my question is: What about flaming burst (or icy burst, etc.)? It still deals +1d6 damage on non-criticals but deals amplified damage on critical hits. Would the fact that part of its enchantment invalidate it entirely and make it just a flaming (or frost, shock, etc.) weapon instead or since part of it is not excluded, the critical amplifying aspect stays? My gut instinct tells me that something cannot be both blessed and flaming burst at the same time (but could simply be blessed and flaming instead) but I was just kind of curious to see if everyone else saw it the same way.

My gut instinct says that it would stack. The enchantment makes every critical threat a successful critical hit against evil creatures. They don't want keen or vorpal enchantments added to it because there would simply be too many criticals and/or each one would threaten to decapitate the foe with that much more assurance. However, I don't really see a problem with allowing the flaming burst enchantment to stack. The weapon is designed to be powerful against evil creatures, and if you mute that too much, it defeats the purpose. The enchantment isn't all that powerful by itself, anyway.

Bear in mind that it also aligns the weapon to be 'good' for the purposes of bypassing DR. The two of these abilities combine to be a pretty good deal for only a +1 market price modifier.

I've got one of the weapons planned for my Carceri game as a +3 blessed metalline dire pick. Automatically confirm criticals against evil creatures on a x4 crit weapon? Very nice. Plus, metalline (from Underdark) allows the wielder to change the material the weapon is made of as a standard action. Blessed makes it good, so... are we fighting a pit fiend? BAM! It's silver and good. Balor? BAM! Cold iron and good. Evil outsiders beware.

Can you put in a good word for me with the Lollipop Guild?

Uhh... I'm not sure I get the reference.

~grins~ Fatespinner, he means that he thinks that the weapon is a munchkin type of weapon. Of course, once you get to 16 th level, almost everything seems that way.

Ah, well, this game is a one-shot campaign for a group of my old gaming buddies who are back in the state for the holidays and wanted to game again for old times sake. It's supposed to be cheesy and munchkin-y.
