I've read through the submissions guidelines for both Dragon and Dungeon but was unsure how long a query should be. I guesssed it would be about a paragraph per article idea. How many article ideas per email is too many?
Thanks, Theo
Theo,
It depends on the type of article you're interested in submitting. An adventure, backdrop, or other such long article would require a longer submission. Shorter articles (two-pager's) do not require a proposal - just the entire article.| Koldoon |

It's important to note that submissions for Dragon have very different requirements than those for Dungeon.
For Dragon they want several short (couple paragraph) ideas in a single email.
For Dungeon it depends on whether you're submitting an adventure/backdrop or a Campaign Workbook. Campaign Workbook articles should be submitted already completed with a Standard Disclosure Form. Adventure and backdrop articles (note that they really only accept backdrops in conjunction with a related adventure currently) should be done as queries not to exceed 1000 words.
There are several forums where people have posted examples of their queries for adventures, just remember never to post one until it has been rejected or both accepted AND published (as in it's made its way through the often multiyear process from acceptance to final publication).
So, to answer your question (for Dungeon) - no more than one article per email, and include the query or manuscript as an attachment, not in the body. Make sure to include a Standard Disclosure Form. Queries should be under 1000 words and no more than two pages.
Hope this helps.
