Ancient Baatorians

3.5/d20/OGL

I just wanted to know if there were any other info on ancient Baatorians than what was mentioned in the BOVD?

Wait for the Fiendish Codex II to come out. If it isn't in there, it won't be found in the Nine Hells...

Scarab Sages

I was just looking at the Table of Contents for FC II (can be downloaded from WotC's site) and the first chapter is All About Devils. While it didn't say anything specific about the history of Baator, I would hope that they will at least have a blurb about said history. I also noticed that Chapter 3 had a new race called Hellbred.

After reading the interesting and well-done history of the Tanar'ri in FC I, I've no doubt that the answers you seek will be in FC II. I am really looking forward to this book. :) I didn't like the job that the BoVD did with Asmodeus (or several other Dukes), so I am eager to see what FC II does to "fix" them.

Liberty's Edge

If you can find a book called "Barlowe's Inferno," give it a lookover. It's got crazy paintings of hell, demons, and craziness like that. It's weirder than all getout, and it's got some wild ideas in it.

There are hints in the 3e Manual of the Planes, and FC:I name drops them with the Obyriths as fellow creations of the Baernaloths.

However the most detailed material comes from the following sources:
2e 'Faces of Evil: The Fiends'
2e 'Hellbound: the Blood War'
2e 'Tales from the Infinite Staircase'

Actually, I just read an interview with two of the books designers (on the WotC website). They said that the ancient baatorians are not covered in the FC II. I'm going to go cry now.

Ack! Well, my interest in the FC II just dropped by about 500 points... I mean, it already was down for not having a Paizo staffer on the cover...
