Greyhawk: Sheldomar Valley; Dreadwood

As mentioned before, I'm back in dice-rolling action and could use some of y'all's help. Currently the game was paused as the brave, okay mostly neutral, heroes had squashed a Zern/Suel fleshlab under the sewers of Gradsul and will be getting a tip to investigate the fallen tower of the Malhel at Valadis in the Dreadwood.

I noticed that on the four-part poster map of Greyhawk that Valadis was listed. Most of the named items on that map seem to correlate to an existing adventure and I was wondering what adventure takes place there?

Also, I was throwing out a request for some of y'all's ideas on good encounters or sub-stories that could take place in or around the Dreadwood. It seems that all I've stumbled upon recently has been on the border ares with the Hool Marshes and the disputed border along the Yeomanry.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Liberty's Edge

No adventure is set there. It is a new location with relevance to a bunch of history background of Keoland and the Silent Ones, the vast majority of which has not been published in any official source.

Thanks Sam. You were actually one of the people that I had hoped would pipe in on this subject, as I have used alot of your Greyhawk information in my current campaign in the Sheldomar.

Daigle, if your players are tramping about the Dreadwood, you might also find my Dreadwood page useful. There's a quickie adventure location on that page as well.

I'm glad you like it Daigle.
If you can stop by the Greytalk chat some time you might be able to harangue some more ideas for it out of Gary Holian.

I'll check it out, but certainly don't want to harangue anyone into offering help. I know there are some Greyhawkers out here and was looking for any specific references to previously published material to save me a bit of time in preparing. But knowing that I would end up trashing most of it to write it as my own, I realize that I should have posted this thread as "Hey any of y'all wanna give me some cool creepy forest side-trek ideas".

Also, thank you for posting Maldin. I have read most of your Greyhawk site as well. I greatly appreciate your contibution to the community. Sam, great work with Sean Reynolds on the Vecna aritcle. In my campaign I made a BBEG who was a swarm-shifter mummy who was a daughter of Vecna in his mortal years. Undead swarms...fun times.

Liberty's Edge

There might be something in the old Keoland article from the Living Greyhawk Journal by Gary Holian. It used to be available on the WOTC website.
