The film is overlong. It drags in places. The romance has no sizzle. But, hell, is Daniel Craig ever James Bond! He looks badass. Gone are the puny arms of Brosnan and the paunch of Moore. Mr. Bond is now the blunt weapon he should be.
Daniel makes him a three dimensional charcter who bleeds, feels and even cries. Go watch the film that will reinvent the Bond franchise to the way it should be. Great finish, with a great line. We know what's to come.

I'll second most, if not all, the aforementioned points. Still, the movie is easily the best Bond movie in a while. Craig is an excellent James Bond as he blends together the strengths of several earlier incarnations - he is the most physical Bond by far, but at the same time remains a rather witty character. Also, there are no painfully ridiculous characters a la Denise Richards as the nuclear physicist Christmas Jones.
Good movie. Go see it!

I took my hubby to see this for his birthday, and we both really enjoyed. I think a lot of people that are used to the super-polished Brosnan Bond aren't going to like this version of 007. No gadgetry, no big car chase scenes, none of the typical Bond fare that we've been fed in the last couple of movies. That being said, I really really liked it. Daniel Craig's version of Bond is rougher and grittier, and I like it. I like it a lot. The accoutrements took a back seat to the story and the characters, which I like.
Towards the end of the movie, I felt the movie could have used some more editing, maybe 15-20 minutes less.
The end of the movie was killer - which one will they do next, I wonder...:D
M's line at the beginning of the flick was priceless - "Goddamnit, I miss the Cold War!"

I very much dislike chase scenes, but the one near the beginning of this movie HAD me. Truly awesome.
Heh, I love chases, but the construction site one had WAY too much computer imagery flying around and not enough live action (I love the Coyote and the Roadrunner, but prefer to keep the cartoons in my movies to a minimum). But who cares? The rest of the film rocked. FINALLY we get the Bond from the novels, instead of the cheese-boy parody the movie character had morphed into ever since Connery returned from his OHMSS layoff.

Good to hear! I'm a fan of Ian Flemming's novels and it sounds like this movie is taking Bond back to his literary roots and away from the campy, satirical character that the Hollywood franchise turned him into. I, too, was turned off by fatuous characters like Christmas Jones. Looking forward to seeing this.
