Hi guys!
Last night I planned the journey of the Sea Wyvern, trying to match up distances, and a starting point of Escalant (I'm forced to do this as I set the Shackled City in nearby Taskaunt).
I have them set off from Escalant, sail to Airspur in Chessenta, head up the Vilhon Reach to a seaborn portal that will take them to the southern coast of the Mhair Jungles (and my version of Tamoachan), and then westward to the island of The Mother of Mists, and then west off the map to my Island of Dread.
Two questions --
1) Would this be of any use to you guys? If so I can post a graphic file.
2) I want my seaborn portal to require a key to activate - something Tamoachan I think - what's a good exotic item to activate the portal?

Of course the map would be useful - at least to me. Even if I don't copy your entire route, I may use parts of it.
As for possible keys to the gate, how hard are you planning on making it for the player to find the portal key on the Vilhon Reach side of things?
If the key is too exotic looking, it might be much easier to get rumors and information about locating the key. On the other hand, if you want to make the key easy to identify/locate then the more exotic looking the better.

Well, I figure that Lavinia knows what the key is, and will supply one for the Blue Nixie and Sea Wyvern, but she wants to keep it a secret (and a surprise for the PCs), since she doesn't want the whole world knowing about the portal and the trade route the Vandenborens have set up.
BTW, does anyone know how many miles it is from Chult to Maztica?

No, my worry was hitting Maztica. I need the Isle of Dread in the middle of nowhere. So Maztica being that far away is good for me.
I figure the Vandenborens found out about the Isle from an Amnian merchant who has been to Maztica, and they've set up Farshore to deal with Maztican and Chultan goods. Of course, with a portal they're taking unheard of goods to the Unapproachable East and going to make a killing ...
