Hey, I'm in the process of creating a character for an AoW game. If anyone cares, his build is gnome favored soul/bard/mystic theurge, worshipping Sheyanna Flaxenstrand from Races of Stone. I know, bard spellcasting sucks and isn't worth taking with theurge. My DM is allowing me to take a feat that allows bardic music to progress with mystic theurge levels. :-D But I digress. Back to my original question: What online resources are available for AoW PCs? Is there a player's guide available anywhere like with the STAP? How about offline resources? Which dragon issues do I need to buy?
Dragon #333 kicks off the Wormfood articles, detailing a home base the characters can use for the first few adventures (and beyond if they hook it up with enough magical doodads).
Dragon #334 offers some mundane items unique to Diamond Lake that I would encourage starting players to check out.
Dragon #335 lists three NPCs native to Diamond Lake that would make great mercenaries, and eventually cohorts.
Issues beyond that deal with areas outside of Diamond Lake, so I would hold off on looking through those until you get there.
There are also a number of Ecology articles, starting with #335, that are pertinent to the Age of Worms. I won't list which ones, though, so as not to spoil any potential surprise your DM was planning. But once they come up, you'll be able to read up on them (at least out of character).
