This is probably a long shot, but does anyone out there know if the upcoming devil book will have anti-devil PC feats (as opposed to the ones from Hordes of the Abyss which dealt only with evil characters)? ie: Did WoC learn from their mistakes (since several complaints on this issue have been floating around)for their second go-around?

That's a good question, and difficult to say since there's been very little detail on what's inside. There is this piece from the description, however:

Along with information about the physiology, psychology, society, and schemes of the devils themselves, you’ll find feats, spells, items, and tactics commonly employed by these infernal creatures and those who oppose them.

The "and those who oppose them" line seems to indicate that they will have stuff for those seeking ways to better combat the devils, but who knows how accurate that is.

My advice is to keep on the look out at WotC's website. They've gotten into the habit of posting the Table of Contents of soon-to-be-published books in pdf form for download.

Where are these complaints at, precisely? And because someone has made them, does this constitute a mistake on WotC's part?

The book is more a focus on the fiends, not so much their foes. There have been other titles like Book of Exalted Deeds and Complete Divine that offer some of these anti-devil feats.

I guess I didn't really expect the Fiendish Codex to have anti-fiend feats and such in it. I know that the Draconomicon and Lords of Madness had some anti-lead monster stuff in it, but in the end, I generally expect the book to have stuff about fiends in it. The Book of Vile Darkness didn't have much anti-fiend material in it.

Generally I would guess that the Book of Exalted Deeds, Complete Divine, and the upcoming Complete Champion would be where I expect anti-fiend feats, abilities, PrCs, and items to be located.

Well... technically, most of the feats in Fiendish Codex I weren't evil. They were chaotic; a specific design choice so that PCs COULD take most of them. All of the Heritor feats, for example, are legal for any Chaotic character to take (including Chaotic Good characters), and the Ordered Soul feat lets anyone (even paladins) take the feats.

ANYway... I've not looked through Fiendish Codex II that much, but it's pretty similar in content and layout to the first one, so I wouldn't expect a focus on fighting devils. I could be wrong, of coruse... I haven't seen the final book yet...

So maybe you can let slip whether or not Geryon will be in it. I know they did a piece on him in the WotC web enhancement for the Book of Vile Darkness, so it only seems proper that he'd get treatment in FC II.

For better or for worse, probably not, because he was killed off in 'Tome of Magic', where he was presented as a vestige.

Oh yeah, I don't have that book. Thanks for the information. I'll keep my hopes up that the folks at WotC get their heads out of there butts on that paticular score.
