Apparently for the third year now (and completely unbeknownst to me) Worldwide D&D Game Day is coming! I saw the fliers for it at our local game store and the proprietor gave be a huge load of free product! The poster is a big picture of Strahd unfurling his cape. Pretty cool even if he does look like a bit of a fop.
So yeah, there's going to be sponsored Ravenloft games at our store and probably yours too. You should check it out!

Twenty years ago we all gathered to put an end to Strahd.
And now he has risen.
We must return and finish the job this time.
Uhmmm...if I remember my experience in I6 correctly...twenty years ago, we all gathered and Strahd put an end to my character....
...but I knew what you meant. Revenge me! :)

20 years ago Strahd looked kewl, kicked butt, energy drained characters to a faretheewell and then - maybe - expelled us from Robinloft so we couldn't gear up to 18th or 19th level, come back and stake his butt.
Now, he looks like a pansy, but he'll probably still kick butt. Although I pity him should he run into a Radiant Servant of Pelor with suitably horrific ability scores and feats ...

Yeaah, that would be kewl as a supernatural ability, suppressible at will, without the unpleasant side effect of generally needing to be ... well, dead and then losing all the bonus hp for a decent CON score ...
