Hello Everyone,
Due to a large group and some interesting augmented story elements, my PCs killed Lord Raknian along with Bozal Zahol down in the Kyuss Shrine as they were preparing the final sacrifices before its release on the morrow. The Ulgurstasta remains unreleased deep below the arena and the PCs are due to fight Auric's Warband (it currently being just after midnight going into the final day).
My timeline for tomorrow's "planned" festivities is the final fight at dusk (6:00pm) after a day of preliminary events. However with Lord Raknian and Captain Okaral missing, as well as Lord Smenk (the manager of Auric's Warband to boot), I'm thinking the PCs are going to find themselves on the end of a harsh inquisition. With the support Raknian would have in Greyhawk, I'm thinking legal action of some nature might be in store. A situation where the group has to talk there way out of what will be "made" to look like cold-blooded murder and an attempted cover-up.
Any ideas as to how to finish off what has been an exceedingly enjoyable 5th module for my group?
Best Regards

If the players haven't figured out that there is an Ulgurstasta in there, you could have the thing set to break out right at the start of the final match. Have the authorities question the PCs harshly all morning, so they sweat bullets. In the end, though, let them fight the final match--too many of the authorities have money riding on it one way or the other to cancel it. The PCs have judgement hanging over their heads if they win, or even survive. Then, if they defeat the Ulgurstasta they have a chance to vindicate themselves and prove their innocence.

Perhaps someone more savvy in lore about Greyhawk and the Free CIty can help me out here, but wouldn't Raknian's very presence in the temple implicate his guilt? I Know it's the Free City and all, but I think there are some religions that by law are definite no-nos. The cult of Kyuss/Ebon Triad would certainly qualify. You could also have witnesses such as Eligos or even Allustan testify on their behalf (this could even set up a trial scenario as PB (above) mentioned ,with all sorts of possible encounters, Plus, you could have them try and stop Okoral from killing Eligos to prevent his testimony or even leading diviners back into the gritty sewers to look around Zyrxog's former lair.)

as the champion games finale is a prophecy for the age of worms, if your pc's take out the apostle...your games story is doomed. However, it sounds like you have a group full of folks who just smash stuff, so keep running the adventures, they probably won't notice the story holes.
Funnily enough, the exact opposite is true. I was looking for a battle more of wits than arms. They have several political allies in Greyhawk Matriarch Serana of Pelor as well as several belonging to her faction, the Halmasters (A Merchant's Guild)as well as good will from several martial members of the Oligarchy after events at Blackwall. However, in the same breath, they have developed several enemies whilst in Greyhawk who were pawns of Lord Raknian.
I'm expecting quite the political fallout as Greyhawk awakens to find one of it's greatest heroes missing - along with several others of high standing (Captain Okaral has/had significant links to the Assassin's guild).
On top of this, the group have the Apostolic Scrolls in their possession as well as highly identifiable equipment belonging to Raknian. As divinations are performed confirming Raknian's passing/death/murder I'm thinking a very clever lawyer sponsored by the benefactors of Raknian's estate could cause quite significant legal difficulty for our party of heroes (and quickly turn them into villains).
I'm after some ideas of how to turn the tables on the PCs so they have to diplomatically scramble their way out of a very sticky situation. All the while, there is significant pressure for the final round to go ahead (the bookies have taken more money for Auric's warband and will not be pleased at the massive financial loss on the cards if the PCs are forced to forfeit. Some will seek revenge for their loss.
As for the "smash stuff...probably won't notice the story holes" comment, my players expect much more from me than that.

Actually, there is more to the prophecy than that. This sounds like it might be from a player, so I won't go into spoilerific detail, but the outcome of the Champion's Belt does not derail the Age of Worms.

Clarification: I'm the DM. :)
I've banned my players from this page and they're not the type to go against that.I should have put a spoiler note in the heading but the heading was already too long. I though players would feel pretty bad snooping about this board anyway.
