So... how did I JUST discover the "Intelligent Item Personality Quirks" table??

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I... don't even have anything to add. Some of these are making me cry, I'm laughing so hard.

Intelligent Item Personality Quirks

# 22- His Legend started in the 12th century.....

And his ego score is the same number as his provision.

Although looking at it closely, that is just the glue that binds a wide number of irritating quirks together.

But yeah, played well, this list is hilarious. REALLY make the party do cost benefit analysis between a great weapon with cool SLAs and such vs. their alcohol budget that keeps them from just walking into Mordor on an 'errand'.

You could make things really interesting depending on the ability/quirk combos. How about the sword that is the only one in the party with knowledge (local)... but it has #80- lying gossip. Mage hand on the one with #70- lack of moral compass+sitcom level shenanigans for simple problems?

Why is this not on d20pfsrd???

ROFL I never saw this either... The best part is, I have a just introduced intelligent item in my game (currently running Edge of the World from Kobold Press).

The reaction of the players upon finding it was "Oh god, oh god, this is going to end BAD."

On a semi-related note, am I the only person whose initial reaction to the discovery of an intelligent magic item 'Get f'ing rid of it!!'

My first reaction is to interrogate it to find out all its powers.

Mostly so I can better pitch it when I 'Get f'ing rid of it' by selling it to a merchant or a wealthy noble that doesn't have your good sense.

Depends on the personality. Even annoying ones can mellow out if you find the right way to diplomance them.

I mean, I roll with adventurers who include a guy that wants to Eat of Every Meat, a guy who wants to craft a perfect immortal society, Data from Next Generation, and a half-orc whose magic talking mask is smarter than he is, and I'm not particularly sane myself. One more "charming personality" is adding another bucket to the lake.

"We're all mad here."
