I heard that the group I'm joining not only left Filge alive, but he and his Bugbear Zombie traveled with the group for a while, only to take off somewhat mysteriously (we killed him in our group, crit with a bow). What I essentially need right now is not a backstory but a "Middlestory", what happened to him in the time shortly after the battle with Filge, and the tournament in the Free City we are about to start when I join. There was some rumor that he tried to overthrow Smenk(Sp?) and take over his empire, but failed. I will of course be talking to my DM as well, in fact he might just see this post and comment. <B>My biggest problem seems to be that I simply don't know much about what's going on around the area or what he could have got himself into.</B> I also finally request that nobody posts any information I shouldn't know at this point in the Adventure Path. So you're playing Filge, huh? That's awesome, he has got to be one of the most hilarious, creepy, pathetic, and memorable characters our group has ever encountered. Some might also say lovable, but then again, they might not. The DM of my game says that there's not much said about what happens to him in the module, so you and the DM are probably on your own.
Are you thinking of continuing to advance him as a wizard? Cleric levels for the True Necromancer thing? (No, no, you're going to turn him into a paladin, right? ;) ) He could have gone off to research more powerful spells, or started stealing corpses from the morgue, or even working there (I think he has Profession: Mortician or something). He seems to hold grudges quite a bit, maybe he's been trying to hire assassins to take out those who betrayed him in the past, but doesn't have enough money to hire competent ones. In our game, we found bad emo poetry mixed in with his rambling journal entries and detailed experiment notes...maybe he's been trying his luck at open mic nights at the local taverns?
Heh, I'm sure you can make up something wacky that he was doing. Perhaps he's made some new enemies, and joins the party under the pretense of helping them, but is really wanting protection from a Cullen-esque thug, or some such thing. Please share your exploits, as it seems like Filge is destined to get into trouble no matter who is playing him.
