Sasserine and evil races

Hi! Please give me some hints on integrating PCs with evil races into the campaign.

It seem that we will have a rare mix of PCs:

- Drow wizard
- Githyanki fighter
- Orog fighter
- Fey'ri rogue
- and a boring human cleric :)

Do you think that these creatures can just walk the streets? Do they need to be careful about where they go and in what disguise?

Some problems with the backgrounds as well:

- I found house Arabani being obsessed with drow so there goes the drow PC. (I hope house Arabani and the drow doesnt have a part in the story later on)

- The githyanki could be placed into the noble district's tatto and knowledge the planes sage... :S

- still thinking about the others...

What do you think?

I think Sasserine, as written...all those guys would get hunted down and immediately hung or stoned.
I plan to work on Sasserine a little bit, and make it a little more scalawaggish a place. More Mos Eisley and less Martha's Vinyard. Roit Roit.

sure sure i was just kidding. we usually play humans all the time...

I don't think those races would be hunted down and killed at all. At least not in all the districts.

According to the Player's Guide to the STAP it doesn't make any mention of racism or racial hatred in any of the districts. However, some districts are very strict when it comes to their city watch.

I'd say any of those races could walk freely in the Azure, Shadowshore, or Merchant districts. They would probably be arrested on sight in the Noble or Cudgel district. And the Champion's district would probably be ok with them as long as they stayed out of trouble or worked in the arena or something.

As a fellow DM, I don't like telling my players 'NO' to questions like these, as long as the player comes up with a decent background and character concept, and isn't just munchkinizing his character.

I think it depends on the race.

A drow is going to have a hard time in nearly any campaign -- everyone knows they're untrustworthy, back-stabbing, cheating, immoral, card-playing, wife-beating bad guys.

On the other hand, who on the street is going to know what a githyanki is? Though hanging out with a drow admittedly won't look good.

The feyri can be anyone. With their alter self ability (remember it's at will), they cna change to any humanoid so they can be anyone : elf merchant, human beggar, half-elf noble.

Githyanki, well noone knows what they are, but they look ugly. So they can survive only in district like merchant or shadowshore.

Drow will have a really hard time. everyone knows they are evil, betrayers and murderers. So everytime one is walking in the street, a patrol of the watch will follow her/him and she/he will be always the wrong-doer when there will be trouble.
