The background for Sasserine has a black dragon in it (I can't remember its name at the moment) who killed the original Sasserine. One of my players is playing a Kobold with draconic heritage (I think thats what the feat is called) of a black dragon and I wanted to tie them together. My question is, will that be the only reference to the dragon in the whole AP? Will there be more history in the future? I get the impression that they only send 1.5 adventures in Sasserine, so I am assuming that there will be no more references. Granted the dragon could have come originally from the Isle of Dread, who knows.

The black dragon Zelkarune isn't scheduled to appear in the campaign; he's been dead a long time (not that that means much in D&D). His name has been taken by a group of gladiators, mercenaries, and big-game hunters called Zelkarune's Horns, and this affiliation is one of the 6 detailed in Dragon #348 that PC can join, but apart from using his name, the outfit doesn't really add much to the Zelkarune mythology.
In other words, whatever you want to do with Zelkarune should be fine.

First, thanks for the quick response. Now I can't wait for issue #348. I have been thinking about using affiliations and having one that may really fit one of the PCs will be great. I may not need to do much beyond that.

James, do you know if there are any plans for other dragons? (One idea that's crossed my mind is in the next-to-last scenario, have one of the Things To Do include getting an item -- maybe the Iron Flask -- from a dragon's hoard.)

There will certainly be some dragons in the Savage Tide, but I'm not sure where exactly they'll show up.
