Orc with a pie?

3.5/d20/OGL

Someone somewhere (not sure where) referenced orcs liking pie, and dying for it. Then, the Wizards site referenced it as well.

What is the "Orc with a Pie" joke/story?

"Orc and Pie" is the nickname for an adventure (written by Monte Cook, I believe) properly entitled "The World's Shortest (Yet Technically Complete) Adventure". It consists of a 10x10 room which contains an Orc holding a pie. I use it to introduce all of my first time players to the combat system before the game starts, because it has an encounter (the orc) and a reward (pie and experience). Other similar one shots (for example, a room with a covered pit trap for a rogue, or Skeleton and Pie for a cleric) are sometimes necessary as supplements.

Who doesn't like pie?

The Orc n' Pie adventure also showed up in a Wil Save column as well, which is where I first read about it.

That was my first exposure, as well. Having done further research (a google search), the adventure in its entirety can be found here . It even includes a tie-in for further adventures!

Pie is good!

Hmm...goblin with a cake.

Thanks for the info. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got an orc to read about...and a pie to dream about. ;)
