Knights of the Silver Dragon

Dragon Magazine General Discussion

Hi,

I'm a newbie here. Been playing DnD for ages and took up gming 3 years ago. Had a subscription for the Dragon and Dungeon magazines for a couple of years now. Awesome magazines!

I am always reading for ideas. Fiction and nonfiction, adult, kids, teenage, doesn't really matter what. Recently I've been reading the Knights of the Silver Dragon series produced by WotC. Very cute series, by the way.

I was wondering if any articles have ever been written using material from the books? Especially ones that include items or monster stats that have been mentioned in the stories, that aren't in the usual source books?

I'm looking to see if there is any information or stats anywhere for the silver dragon construct/companion that becomes Kellach's familiar in book 2 or 3. And if there is, if there is any extra information on how to obtain or construct other similiarly made creatures.

Can anyone help?

MissMenolly,

Welcome to the boards. That's cool that you live in New Zealand. They've been fliming some really cool movies there, and the geography looks amazing. I'd love to visit someday.

Isn't Knights of the Silver Dragon a '12-and-under' series? That is why I never bought any of the books. I will say though, that I don't recall anything from those books being in either Dragon or Dungeon, and they usually give a reference source for something like that.

Yup, but don't discount them because they are for younger readers. The stories are quite good adventures, well written and great for game ideas.

Hmmm, I might have to email a suggestion for a story then...

I might have to go email a suggestion for loot... :)

Welcome to the boards! :)

I am not against this idea. I feel compelled to warn you, though, that the current backlog of Bazaar of the Bizarre articles means the acceptance rate is hovering somewhere below 5%. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try, it just means to either knock my socks off or be ready for rejection.

Yo, Mike! Would this article work better as a Divine Inspiration, perhaps? Is that still a legit department?

I believe that department has gone the way of the dodo. Wes could confirm its death if he ever came to the boards, but in his absence I can only say I think it's gone.

Yeah, I hadn't seen one in a while.

And I cannot say that I will miss it. An end to A Novel Approach AND Silicon Sorcery? Drinks are on me!
