Talking of miniatures, there may be something miniature related that would require a little bit of work before play started but would increase the WOW factor for your group tenfold!

I bought that boat just for Savage Tide, so far it's wonderful. Not too difficult to assemble and will fit the game perfect.

Are you using cardstock to print it out on or something else? How does it feel, sturdy?
I was considering getting it and printing it on some cheap photo-paper(sturdier than printer paper but not too thick) that I have lying around. I have done that with buildings to good effect. How many sheets is it?FH

I use 110 lb cardstock to print my worldworks models and they turn out very sturdy and can stand up to a lot of gaming. Best thing is if parts get damaged you can quickly print off and put together a replacement piece. I'm not sure how well photo paper would work - I don't think it would stand up as well as cardstock if it needs to bear the weight of miniatures. Cardstock is cheap, and you won't use much of a package for one model.

The Orc Raider (from Archfiends) looks fairly piratey as well. I've got four of those and four of the reavers from Dragon Queen, so that'll be my standard 8 grunt pirates. Of course, the Archfiends set is retired, so the orcs may be harder/more expensive to snag--I've seen 'em on eBay recently for about $2 or so.
EDIT: Oh, and $10 would probably net 20-40 of those cloudreavers--I've seen 'em go for as cheap as 20 cents...

Thanks guys, I think i will order it and use foamboard covered with a lighter cardstock (not sure what my printer will handle).

I'm sure your printer will handle 110 lb cardstock. I have a bottom of the line ink-jet and have no problems with it at all. You can get lighter weight cardstock, but 110 lb is the best bet. You will need at least a 28"x21" sheet of foamboard to use as the model's masterboard - it serves as the base of the model and you glue the "floor" grid (in the Maiden of the Mist model its a sea grid) to it.
For what its worth I highly recommend the worldworksgames models. They are cheap, easy and fun to build, and look fantastic. They really jazz up encounters.

Wal-Mart sells a brand of cardstock called Georgia Pacific which goes for roughly $5 per 100 pages and is 110lb. It's just as sturdy as photo paper and less expensive. I've built the Sea Maiden and have to say it's an outstanding model! Best time and money I've spent in a long time.
