Subscriptions purchased through Amazon come to us by mail, and are treated just like any other subscription that comes in the mail.
That said, we vastly prefer it when you subscribe through our website instead of through resellers like Amazon. For one thing, they don't pass on 100% of the subscription price to us, so our margin is lower; our overhead is also higher because somebody has to manually enter the subscription into our system. We also aren't given your e-mail address, so unless you come to paizo.com and set up an account and associate your subscription with it, we can't e-mail you renewal notices. Also, because Amazon sends subscriptions to a service who mails them to us, if the timing is bad, it could take an extra month before you get your first issue. And, as though all that weren't enough, your subscription is a buck cheaper at paizo.com.
