What does Heal spell do for warforged?

3.5/d20/OGL

Quick question all, one of my players brought this up and I thought I would throw it out to those who play with warforged in their groups.

What does the cleric spell Heal do for the warforged?
Is it compleatly effective?
Does it does it only give half hit points like other healing spells?(Whats half of infinity?*grin*)

I don't have warforged in my group, but one player is thinking of bringing one in as an alternate character in case "bad things" happen.

Thanks, Rath

Yes, it only cures half as many hit points as it otherwise would.

But read the spell description. Nowhere does it say that it heals "all" hit point damage, or an "infinite" amount of damage, or anything like that.

"It also cures 10 hit points of damage per level of the caster, to a maximum of 150 points at 15th level."

So when cast on a warforged, heal cures 5 hit points of damage per level of the caster, to a maximum of 75 points at 15th level.

Do remember that when they revised third edition (3.5) they changed how heal works, such that now it's capped at 10 points per caster level (maximum 150 points at level 15). The reason for the change was that in the original version of third edition, they'd forgotten to account for the fact that second edition characters had far fewer hit points, and heal and harm was far too powerful compared to what it had been in second edition.
