Hey Paizo have you ever considered going back and updating old Dungeon adventures to 3.5 and publishing them in "module" format. For example, I would love to pick up the first two "Flame" adventures and insert them into my campaign and use Flame as a continuing campaign villain.
I know you guys are busy but I think it would be worth it financial to you. You might even consider publishing it in pdf format to save on reproduction costs like the Shackled City Hardback must have cost. Just a thought.

Sounds like a wonderful idea; there have definitely been a lot of great adventures that would make great additions to those available for 3.5. I certainly understand, though, that the Paizo guys may be a bit too busy for this task. I know my GM has updated a bunch of the old stuff already to use for his campaigns in the past.
If there was an interest in updating these or other old adventures, maybe it would be easier if updated versions could be submitted to Paizo in the same manner that normal adventures are submitted (under some other category maybe?), with a list of some of the ways that a person changed old style things to fit the new rules system as the query or something. That way, Paizo wouldn't have to do the work if someone else had already done a good job at the update.

There's a post somewhere on these boards where (I believe) James Jacobs responds to this issue. If I remember correctly, the view at Paizo is that they'd rather not update old adventures for earlier editions. They may not have the rights to do so and they'd rather print something new than recycle something old.
That being said, they do welcome submissions that revisit classic adventures in some way (e.g., set in the same location or building on the events of the prior adventure).
Of course, the above is all hearsay. I'm sure someone official will have something to say before long.

Thanks. I haven't been on these boards in a while and there's so many threads it's hard to tell if I'm repeating things, I do appreciate the help.
Hmm.. what about some sort of "tool kit" for updating? You know, like a list of commonly used things from old editions that would be hard to update and suggestions about what to do with them to fit them in 3.5.

Well I can't think of a tool kit list but most adventures are not that hard to update.

I think there's been some discussion about a Dungeon Compedium similar to the Dragon Compendium. However, I believe that volume is going to focus on all the rules, feats and monsters that have been introduced in Dungeon magazine, but I sure would enjoy some classic adventure updates as well.
As a matter of fact, I would like some of the better old adventures from Dragon magazine (pre Dungeon, 1976 to 1986) included in future Dragon compendiums. I'm too time strapped and (lazy) to do that myself and I have no problem with old content being recycled, especially if classic and excellent material is being targeted.
Another Dungeon compendium I'd love to see is one featuring nothing but backdrops. I love backdrops and having them all in the same book would be an awesome convenience.

It could be a question of the royalties that would need to be paid to those authors - Paizo might not know how to locate a lot of them now.
Royalties shouldn't be a problem, most or all Dungeon authors are paid on a flat fee basis (pretty much standard for the industry as a whole) ... I know, I'm one of them. (It's posssible that excepts are made for staff pieces written by Paizo or WotC folks or specialty pieces such as Maure Castle installments.) So WotC owns the adventures and can do as they wish with them, including updates, or at least that's my understanding.
They probably don't want to revisit old material for creative reasons.

that is how it currently stands but might not be how it has always been done in the past, IIRC the whole stink that occured with the compiled dragon magazine CD-rom archive thing was for this very reason.
