Adventures and prestige classes...

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

I've got an adventure idea brewing and the main villain has a prestige class that is as of yet unpublished (to my knowledge). If I want to include this particular prestige class should I try and get it into Dragon or should I include it in my adventure?

I'd read the submission guidelines for inspiration on this question.

If your adventrue includes a new prestige class, include it in your manuscript. Keep in mind, though, that we rarely publish new prestige classes in Dungeon for two reasons.

1: They take up a lot of room.
2: There's SO many prestige classes out there that it's likely one already works for what you want the NPC to do. If not, then it's truely a new prestige class and we'd love to print it in the magazine. As long as the adventrue itself is awesome also.

That's what I was thinking, Mr. Jacobs. For what it's worth the idea for the prestige class came from the adventure. That is to say that in envisioning the nemesis I realized that it might make sense to give him some abilities and powers based on the story - this seemed to best work itself out as a prestige class.
