Track list for new CD

Off-Topic Discussions

I am thinking of creating a new CD for work. This will be the last one I do though due to being made redundant at the end of the month.

I am trying to think of some good tunes to say goodbye to everyone at work, I have fond memories of most of the people I work with (others, not so much). So far I have

Oasis - Dont look back in anger (opening track)
Nancy Sinatra - These boots are made for walking
John Denver - Leaving on a jet plane
David Gray - Say hello wave goodbye
Daniel Powter - Bad Day
Foo Fighters - Resolve
Greenday - Good riddance (Time of your life) (closing track)

Does anyone have any suggestions?

"The Wind" by Cat Stevens

Umm..these are depending on how you feel about being made redundant...

Johnny "Guitar" Watson - Ain't That A B@$$&
Johnny Paycheck - Take this Job (and shove it)

If this redundancy thing is really getting your goat........

Slipknot - People equal s#!t

Thanks for those.

Mostly I dont feel too bad about it. Some in the office are not happy at all but we all seem to be getting on the task of looking for new work.

Any more suggestions.

Depending on how you feel about your employer, I might suggest the following:
"Boss" by 7 Seconds
"The Magnificent Seven" or
"Career Opportunities" by The Clash
"You" by Bad Religion.

some kinda silly, kinda sentimental ones might be
"Damn Good" by Diamond David Lee Roth
"Alma Mater" by Alice Cooper
"So Tired" by Ozzy
"Dreams" by the Cranberries
"Million to One" by Kiss "A million to one - that's what it will be. A million to one - there's someone better than me"...granted this one is about a breakup over a girl...but SOME of the lyrics apply.

I suppose you could go with
"Workin for the Weekend" by Loverboy

"Ramble On" by Led Zep..."It’s time I was on my way.
Thanks to you, I’m much obliged
For such a pleasant stay..."

but you can't go wrong with
"Hello Goodbye" by the Beatles

And as a final farewell to those who you have come to despise,
"No Time" by the Guess Who..."No time left for you
On my way to better things
No time left for you
I'll find myself some wings
No time left for you
Distant roads are calling me
No time left for you."

Some more excellent suggestions, thanks folks keep them coming :)

Scarab Sages

"My Ride Is Here" by Warren Zevon (also "Keep Me in your Heart")
"Road Movie to Berlin" by They Might Be Giants
"Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult (I got the fe-vah! And the only perscription is more cowbell!)

After some discussion with folks at work I have decided on the following track list:

Last Sesame Commissions CD (Disc 1)

1. Dolly Parton – 9 to 5
2. Martha and the Muffins – Echo Beach
3. The Beatles – I heard the news today
4. Whoever it was that sang it? – Hit the road Jack
5. Oasis - Don’t look back in anger
6. Foo Fighters - Resolve
7. Johnny Paycheck – Take this job and shove it
8. REM – It’s the end of the world as we know it
9. Ben E King – Stand by Me
10. Gloria Gaynor – I Will Survive
11. Nancy Sinatra - These boots are made for walking
12. David Bowie - Changes
13. Daniel Powter - Bad Day
14. David Gray - Say hello wave goodbye
15. John Denver - Leaving on a jet plane
16. Spice Girls – Goodbye my friend
17. Sheryl Crow – Change will do you good
18. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy OST – So Long and thanks for all fish
19. Greenday - Good riddance (Time of your life)

Oh man, can't believe I forgot "So long and thanks for all the fish"...great one! Another couple that just popped into my head is Todd Rundgren's "I dont want to work, I just want to bang on the drum all day" and ACDC "Ride On"

Dark Archive

Hillbilly Devilspeak- "I quit my job!"
N.W.A- "always into something"
Carcass- "Tools of the Trade"
and the list goes on and on....
