I don't live there myself but an old school-friend of mine moved there from the U.K. 4 years ago. He hasn't played D&D since and doesn't know where to turn now that he has really got the shakes. I said I'd use this board for him to see what response I get. Anyone out there near to Calgary?

This is a pretty late response - but there is a big roleplaying shop in Calgary called the Sentry Box - tell him to go there - there is a bulletin board with local groups and events.
